Forage area

For bees, their forage or food supply consists of nectar and pollen from blooming plants within flight range.

The foraging area around a beehive extends for two miles (3 km).

The forage sources for honey bees are an important consideration for beekeepers.

Apiary Book 2.0

Apiary Book 2.0 is available for download today. I am grateful for all your feedback so far. I am committed to continuing to invest in making Apiary Book useful & easy to use for beekeepers across the world.

Check out the list of the new features below:

Financial statement:
Add all income/expense records of your apiary!

Hive weight measurement graph:
The measurement of hive weight provides useful insight into the condition and activities of the honey bee colony and the interaction of the bees with their environment. Check now the graph to see the trend in data over intervals of time.

Graphs filter:
You can now filter your graph data using the following criteria: 
  • Current year
  • Last Year
  • Lifetime (All years)
The filter was added to the following modules: 
  1. Bee families report
  2. Hive weight
  3. Financial

Getting started:
If you are using a previous version of Apiary Book, you can check for updates on the Google Play Store.

Financial records

This tutorial describes how to add a new financial record:

1. Open the Apiary Book app
2. In the top left, tap Menu ≡
3. Tap Financial
4. In the top right, tap ADD
5. Add date, amount, description
6. Choose type (income/expense)
7. Tap Save
8. Return to list of financial records
9. Available filters for list: All, Income, Expense
10. In the top right, tap ⁝ (option menu)
11. Choose Graph
12. Display the Income or Expense graph data
13. Print or Share the graph
